In nature, aquatic organisms have an unlimited supply of constantly renewed water. In active environments, however, the inhabitants of our aquariums live in a closed system where water is their lifeblood, and evaporated water is constantly replenished. SPS corals and the most demanding invertebrates tolerate no compromises in water purity, hence the need for ultrapure aquarium water.

ULTRAPURA is a Grade 1 mixed-bed resin (cationic + anionic) designed for the most demanding aquarist. Thanks to its unique structure, it acts as a safety barrier that transforms filtered water into bi-distilled water with near-zero conductivity. It removes silicates, traces of copper, lead, and zinc that often pass through osmotic membranes. The correct ratio of cationic and anionic resins allows for neutral pH water, safe for our animals.

The lifespan of Ultrapura is inversely proportional to the quality of the water entering the post-filter. The values below refer to 1 liter of product.

Use: Insert the resin into the appropriate cup, as the last stage of the reverse osmosis system, or into a fine-mesh filter through which the water to be treated passes.

Water Treatment for Newly Set-Up Aquariums:

Ultrapura can be used during the setup phase of freshwater aquariums by placing it in a fine-mesh bag (included) and placing it inside the aquarium filter for 24-48 hours. The result will be salt-free water without the laborious transport of refill water.

A pack of Ultrapura absorbs approximately 20 degrees KH in 100 liters of water, so with this reference, we can completely deionize our aquarium water and then supplement only the salts we need with our Rigenera R1 and KH+ to achieve the ideal values for our fish.

Set-up: Once the container is filled, monitor the outgoing water with a conductivity meter (TDS meter). It is important that the resin is kept away from air and tightly sealed in the bag to preserve its ion exchange power.

Monitoring: To ensure maximum performance, constantly monitor the microsiemens value. The resin has completed its cycle when the conductivity consistently exceeds 2 microsiemens. At that point, it will stop functioning, but will not release any phosphates or metals previously captured.
